I have been lucky enough to have had two births – the first was in the very early 1970’s in England. I lived a very happy, if somewhat beige life, settling in London where I lived for over 10 years. I was then reborn when my wife and I moved to America where my life has taken many twists and turns, and has certainly been full of color! I’m what I consider to be a “born again” American – I chose to be here! (and yes, I’m a citizen, and very proudly so) Shortly before moving to the Pacific northwest we had our first baby, and shortly after we arrived we added another, both boys full of energy, questions and funny smells!

I like sunlight, my son’s laugher, chocolate and am firmly stuck in the late 80’s music-wise. Bon Jovi were always my favorite band, before Jonny Boy turned them into an elevator music knockoff.

The term “professional photographer” has lost most of it’s meaning these days, as everyone thinks they are a photographer, and anyone who gets a semi-professional dSLR for Christmas announces that they are now “professional” – but my photography career hails from a different time.

My journey began in the early 1990s when I bought my first “proper” camera, a Canon EOS 100.  After spending a few years as an amateur, learning all the photographic disciplines and spending a fortune on film doing so, I began to transition into the professional world.  Through publishing connections I gained access to the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent, England and began covering the BTTC championship, historic racing and the odd Formula 1 test.   Various career paths followed, including wedding photography, commercial retoucher, running the northwest’s premier pin-up photography studio, Portland Pin-Ups, and now returning to my roots with motorsport.

I have presented on stage in Vegas in front of hundreds of photographers, and felt just like Elvis. I’m sure at least some of them understood my accent…

These days my focus is on motorsport photography and creating beautiful portraits with Portland Pin-Ups. I’m available for racing events across America and Worldwide, for corporate or personal track days, test sessions, car launches or just to capture some stunning images of your own personal car.  Get in touch, let’s talk.
